Last week at Bett 2026 in London, TrackTrail® won the Safeguarding Solutions Award. The Bett Awards are part of the world's largest education technology show, produced in association with BESA. For those unfamiliar with the event, a Bett Award is recognised across the education sector as a mark of excellence in EdTech.

We were up against strong competition from other types of safeguarding solutions like CPOMS, NetSupport, and Blackout Education. What set TrackTrail® apart was demonstrating how the system works when it matters most.

What the judges saw

The judging panel watched a video showing how teachers could use TrackTrail® during a real incident. Students on a Duke of Edinburgh expedition pressed the SOS button on their tracker. The expedition leader saw the alert, and was able to quickly locate the group. They determined medical assistance was needed and called mountain rescue. Because they could provide pinpoint coordinates, rescue services reached the group quickly without needing to search.

This is the scenario every expedition leader dreads. A group is somewhere on the hill, someone's hurt, and you need to get help to them before they get cold or the injury worsens.

The judges recognised that TrackTrail® solves a specific safeguarding problem that other solutions don't address. You can have excellent policies, comprehensive risk assessments, and well-trained staff. But when groups are spread across remote terrain, you need to know where they are.

What the judges said

"A genuinely innovative solution that brings peace of mind to outdoor visits, fieldwork, and Duke of Edinburgh expeditions. TrackTrail® combines proactive safety technology with accessible, trip-by-trip pricing, making real-world impact available to schools of all budgets."

Why this matters for Duke of Edinburgh leaders

The award validates what our customers already know. TrackTrail® works because it was built by people who understand both the technology and the reality of running expeditions.

We're an Ordnance Survey partner. Our platform integrates OS Maps because that's what you need when groups go off route. We combine telecommunications expertise with years of Duke of Edinburgh leadership experience. The system is designed around what expedition leaders actually need to do their job effectively.

The technology preserves the independence that makes Duke of Edinburgh valuable whilst giving you the oversight to fulfil your duty of care. Students navigate with map and compass. You know where they are if something goes wrong.

For existing customers

If you're having budget conversations about renewing your TrackTrail® subscription or purchasing trackers, this award provides independent validation. The education sector's largest technology event recognised TrackTrail® as the leading safeguarding solution in its category.

For schools considering tracking

The judges at Bett 2026 examined solutions from across the education technology sector. They recognised TrackTrail® because it solves a real safeguarding challenge with proven technology at accessible pricing.
